RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF AYURVED :

CANCER RESEARCH PROJECT :

• Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh is conducting Cancer Research Project in Wagholi – Pune, Mumbai and Solapur since 1994.
• Till date, more than 14000 Cancer patients of various types and stages are benefited by his supportive Ayurvedic treatment.
• He has conducted more than 350 “Free Cancer Consultation Camps” and treated many Cancer patients in rural area of Wagholi, Pune. He is regularly organizing exhibitions on “Cancer – Ayurved” for awareness of Cancer at various places.
• His Ayurvedic treatment is found to be effective in improving resistance and quality of life of Cancer patients. Side – effects of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy are remarkably reduced with his Ayurvedic treatment.
• He has organized 5 International Conferences on “Ayurved For Cancer”, where International Research in the field of Cancer was put forth on one stage. He presented various Research Papers on “Ayurved and Cancer” in many National and International conferences.
• As a next step in Cancer Research, he has started “Integrated Cancer Treatment and Research Centre” at the rural area of Wagholi, Pune, where facilities of Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Oncosurgery, Oncopathology along with Ayurvedic treatment are available to Cancer patients under one roof in affordable charges. Poor patients are treated free of cost in this project under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jana Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) and Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).
• This unique centre in Maharashtra, which is recognized as ‘Center of Excellence’ by Department of AYUSH, has received Grant – In – Aid by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India for purchase of Cobalt Radiotherapy Machine and by Department of AYUSH, Government of India for construction and purchase of Oncopathology instruments.
• The Cancer center is funded by Tata Trust for various research activities and construction of Panchakarma Hospital for Cancer patients.
• The cancer center is affiliated to ‘Indian Cancer Society’.

AIDS RESEARCH PROJECT :

• S. P. Sardeshmukh is conducting AIDS Research Project in Wagholi – Pune and Mumbai.
• More than 100 HIV +ve and AIDS patients of various clinical stages are treated with Ayurvedic treatment in this project in minimal charges.
• Post Doctoral Research work (Ph.D.) was also conducted on this topic at Pune University under his able guidance.
• Clinically and statistically his Ayurvedic treatment is found to be effective in minimizing opportunistic infections in HIV +ve patients and improving their Quality of Life. CD4 – CD8 counts are also well maintained in many patients, solely with his Ayurvedic treatment.

FRACTURE and DELAYED BONE HEALING PROJECT :

• S. P. Sardeshmukh has started this Research Project to find out efficacy of Ayurvedic treatment in Fractures and Delayed Bone Healing as a supportive therapy.
• This project is carried out in joint venture with well–known Orthosurgeon Padmashree Dr. Sharad M. Hardikar, Director, Hardikar Hospital, Pune.
• More than 170 patients of Delayed Bone Healing are treated with Ayurvedic treatment including Panchakarma and Diet therapy. Above 80% of them showed callus formation and got satisfactory result.

CONSULTING AYURVEDIC PHYSICIAN :

• S. P. Sardeshmukh is practicing as Consulting Ayurvedic Physician since 1967 in Pune and Mumbai.

MEDICAL AID IN RURAL AREA AS A SOCIAL BINDING :

• S. P. Sardeshmukh is conducting Ayurved Hospital and Research Centre at Rural area of Wagholi since 1985. He is offering medical services in this rural area by means of Ayurvedic treatment and making available facilities of Allopathic treatment.
• S. P. Sardeshmukh, being a Director of Ayurved Hospital and Research Centre, is conducting Free General Health Consultation Camps, Seasonal Panchakarma Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Family Planning Camps, Free Ophthalmic Consultation Camps and Free Squint Surgery Camps at various rural places since 1987. He conducted more than 500 such camps, where more than 50,000 patients are benefited with Medical Aid.
• During the recent pandemic time 2020, the institute under the able guidance of Dr. S.P. Sardeshmukh served the Covid patients through its Covid Care Centre.

CONTRIBUTION IN AYURVEDIC PHARMACEUTICALS :

• S. P. Sardeshmukh, being a Director of Atharva Nature Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., develops pure and authentic herbal products with the help of modern technology.
• Production of his experience based herbal medicines in the Pharmacy is a unique contribution to the science of Ayurved.
• He developed a separate plantation unite for cultivation of quality medicinal plants. Herbal products of Atharva Nature Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., are distributed free of charge to poor patients in various camps organized by Ayurved Hospital and Research Centre, Wagholi, Pune.
• Atharva Nature Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., being approved under T. schedule and G.M.P. norms of FDA, Maharashtra State.
• Herbal products of the Pharmaceuticals are supplied worldwide.
• Considering his proficiency in the field of Ayurvedic Pharmaceuticals, Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh is appointed as Committee Member, AUS Industry, Appointed by FDA, Government of India. USDA and EC (Organic Certified).

CONTRIBUTION IN ACADEMICS :

• S. P. Sardeshmukh has a vast teaching experience of 49 years for undergraduate (B.A.M.S.), postgraduate (M.D.), Post-Doctoral Research (Ph.D.) and Academic D.Sc. in Ayurved.
• 37 students have completed their M.D. and 19 Researchers have completed Ph.D. research under his able guidance in Mumbai University, Pune University, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth and Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nasik.
• 2 students – Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh, Deputy Director of BSDT’s Integrated Cancer Treatment and Research Centre, Wagholi, Pune and Dr. N. Srikanth, Director General (I/C), CCRAS, New Delhi completed their D.Sc. degree under his able guidance at Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune.
• He was Ex – Dean of Ayurved Faculty in Mumbai University and Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune
• He was Ex-Principal of Ayurved College, Wagholi, Pune.
