Dr. Basu received training in Radiation and Clinical Oncology from Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, from September 1994 till March 1999.
He joined Ruby Hall Clinic as Consultant Radiation Oncologist in 1999 and is a key member of the committee for conceptualization and establishment of the state of the art Cancer Centre in 2005 having the first IGRT facility in India. He received advanced training in Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) techniques from Christiana Care Hospitals, USA and Henry Ford Cancer Centre, Detroit, USA.
He is also vastly experienced in the usage of Stereotactic techniques of radiation planning and delivery, intracranial (SRS/SRT) as well as extracranial (SBRT).
His area of interest are women’s and children’s cancers, prostate cancer, CNS tumors and minimizing radiation-induced acute and late toxicities using newer techniques of radiation planning and delivery.
He has chaired scientific sessions and delivered oral presentations in various national and international conferences and seminars.
