She has over 35 years of research experience in the field of Cancer Biology and Immunology. Her research interest are in understanding immune dysfunctions in cancer patients and the development of immunotherapeutic strategies for cancer using gamma delta t cells. She has over 130 publication and has mentored 30 Ph.D students. She is the member of several scientific advisory and review committee, Task force committees of DBT, BIRAC, CSIR,ICMR and senate members of IIT and Academic Council of Universities.

At present she is a member of Education Committee of International Union Immunological Societies IUIS and President of Immuno-oncology Society of India.
